I’ve actually known Grace for a long time, I was a few years ahead of her in high school and our younger brothers were close friends back in the day. It wasn’t until recently that we had reconnected. She was so sweet & kind when she reached out to me originally when my husband first passed away a few years ago. We connected once again this spring when she was in need of an *emergency* engagement photographer.
Grace and her fiance, Miquel, reside in Washington, D.C., where she is an attorney, and he works in IT recruitment. They had planned their engagement session with a photographer local to their home with D.C.’s famous cherry blossoms. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, they’ve both been working remotely and decided they’d quarantine together in Grace’s quaint little hometown, where the outbreak has been minimal.
Upon arrival into town, finding a new engagement photographer was on Grace’s list of To-Do’s.
Let me just say- I am SO honored that she chose me! These two were complete naturals in front of the camera. They both took direction so well and were down for literally anything! We made a couple of strange stops for our 90 minute session, including pulling off to the side of a main road to take photos along a path of blossoming trees that I was dying to shoot in front of.
To date, this session was one of my absolute favorites.
Everything went so smoothly, our weather was perfect, and this couple was just absolutely beautiful. I am so excited to officially be following them back to D.C. next year to photograph their spring 2021 wedding.
One of the parts I’m most excited about for this adventure is that we will be doing some shooting at the monuments (eek!!).
Grace & Miquel have the most amazing photo from the night he proposed at the Lincoln memorial and I am SO excited to recreate it!
